The Brief

Casa Luz is a creative studio in Houston, Texas, thriving as a community hub for artists and creators. The objective was to create a brand identity that resonates with the studio's diverse, artistic spirit and its commitment to being a community safe haven.

The Design Outcomes

Logo Design: We developed a typographic logo that reflects Mexican heritage, using traditional colors, patterns, and symbols to evoke a sense of cultural pride and authenticity. The icon logo is a geometric “casa” or house, resembling Mexican architecture.

Troy, owner of Casa Luz, wanted the word “Luz” which translates to “light” to be significant as well. In the icon logo, the casa has one room that is illuminated by the sun/moon which draws connection to the aspect of Casa Luz — “the house of light” being a photography studio. We implemented the new brand identity across various mediums, ensuring a cohesive look and feel that speaks to Casa Luz's mission of fostering creativity and inclusivity in the Houston.
